🍚 Vegetable Pulao Recipe using Appan Kitchen Pulao Masala

🧂 Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice (washed & soaked for 20 minutes)
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1-inch cinnamon stick
  • 2–3 cloves
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, beans, green peas, potatoes – chopped)
  • 1–2 green chilies (slit, optional)
  • 1 ½ tsp Appan Kitchen Pulao Masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh coriander & mint leaves (for garnish)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Sauté Spices and Onions

  • Heat oil or ghee in a deep pan or pressure cooker.
  • Add bay leaf, cinnamon, and cloves. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.
  • Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.

2. Add Veggies and Masala

  • Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for 1 minute.
  • Add chopped vegetables and cook for 3–4 minutes.
  • Add Appan Pulao Masala and mix well.

3. Add Rice and Cook

  • Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Gently mix without breaking the grains.
  • Pour in 2 cups of water and add salt to taste.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes (or pressure cook for 1 whistle, then let it sit for 10 minutes before opening).

4. Garnish and Serve

  • Once the rice is cooked and fluffy, garnish with fresh coriander and mint leaves.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

🍽️ Serve With

  • Raita or curd
  • Pickle or papad
  • Any curry or dal for a fuller meal
